Michele Dougherty - SJHS Class of '68


Michele is back in South Jersey.  She had been in the convent for 34 years and decided to leave due to the health of her mother who passed away in October 2002.  Michele is an assistant manager at the A.C. Moore arts and crafts store near Runnemede.  While in the convent, she had been the chair of the Art department and taught at Immaculata College.  Following the World Trade Center terrorist attacks, she was in New York feeding the "Ground Zero" site recovery workers at Nino's restaurant.  An article covering this work appeared in the January 2, 2002 issue of the LA Times.  See photos below.  Michele's e-mail address is mdougherty520@comcast.net  April 2003

Accomplishments:

  • Accomplished stone sculptor
  • Buyer for A.C. Moore Arts and Crafts for 16 years
  • 35 wonderful years in the convent

Memories:

  • Honored to be on the Student Council
  • Member of SJHS first girls basketball team
  • Attending all the SJHS sports events
  • Times with friends who are no longer with us, especially John Asher

Future:

  • Would love to meet the man of my dreams in the sunset years of my life!
