March 29, 2002 e-Mail Message from Richard's nephew, Michael Sparti

Dear Frank,

I am Richard’s nephew, Michael, son of his older sister Teresa.  I regret to inform you that my uncle passed away last night.

I know he was still in contact with some of his friends and classmates from High School.  I know my uncle truly loved those times, because he talked about them frequently.

My brother and I spent a lot of time with him the past 6 months, (all of us) helping him deal with a divorce he was going through.  My uncle was a statue of a man.  Sure he had faults, but he still carried the same charisma and presence he had back then; and carried a great pride of his roots with him.  I am glad you have this site.  I really wish he saw it before he passed away.

Thank you,

Michael A. Sparti
